OpenFOAM® Support
Level 1: OpenFOAM® CFD User Support
Level 1 "User" support includes the following activities:
- Installation support for OpenFOAM
- Operation support (advice on the general operation of executables supplied within the OpenFOAM)
- Application support (assistance with setting-up and running computational fluid dynamics calculations using OpenFOAM)
- Maintenance support (error correction, updates, documentation updates, customer portal updates)
- On-site user support
- Telephone support
- E-mail support
Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses are deducted from the support contract for customers requiring on-site user support.
Application and operation support topics typically include the following items:
- Pre-Processing for customer application cases:
- Case organisation
- Importing geometry and mesh data
- Selecting physical models
- Defining material properties
- Prescribing boundary and operating conditions
- Setting solver controls
- Setting-up solution convergence monitors
- Performing a simulation for customer application cases:
- Calculating and monitoring a parallel solution
- Adjusting solver controls
- Performing simulation
- Post-processing customer application cases:
- Displaying and examining results with Paraview
- Exporting data to third party post-processors e.g.Ensight
- OpenFOAM methods integration and workflow guidance (after observation of existing customer processes and software interactions)
- Linking with optimisation software
- Meshing guidelines
- Geometry clean-up and preparation for OpenFOAM
- Definition of customisation requirements
Level 2: OpenFOAM CFD Developer Support
In addition to the Level 1 User support contents, the Level 2 Developer Support includes the following activities:
- Modification of applications and libraries supplied with OpenFOAM
- Advice and assistance on using the OpenFOAM libraries to program new applications and libraries for use within OpenFOAM
- On-site developer support
Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses are deducted from the support contract for customers requiring on-site developer support.
