Details of the annual support services that are made available by ICON are provided below.

Level 1: User Support

Independent Support Services are currently available for the following software:

Level 1 "User" support includes the following activities:
  • Installation support for software
  • Operation support
  • Application support (assistance with setting-up and running calculations)
  • On-site user support
  • Telephone support
  • E-mail support
Maintenance support for commercial software is the responsibility of the software vendor.

This package does not include support for programming, but this would be included with an upgrade to the Level 2 Developer Support package.

Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses are deducted from the support contract for customers requiring on-site user support.
Application and operation support topics typically include the following items:
  • Pre-Processing for customer application cases
  • Case organisation
  • Importing geometry and mesh data
  • Selecting physical models
  • Defining material properties
  • Prescribing boundary and operating conditions
  • Setting solver controls
  • Setting-up solution convergence monitors
  • Calculating and monitoring a parallel solution
  • Adjusting solver controls
  • Performing simulation
  • Post-processing application cases
  • Displaying and examining results
Assistance is also available for:
  • Methods integration and workflow guidance (after observation of existing customer processes and software interactions)
  • Linking with optimisation software
  • Geometry clean-up and preparation for mesh generation
  • Mesh generation guidelines

Level 2: Developer Support

In addition to the Level 1 User support contents, the Level 2 Developer Support includes the following activities:
  • User coding development
  • Programming support
  • Methods development support
  • On-site developer support
Large development projects can be negotiated on an individual basis with ICON.

Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses are deducted from the support contract for customers requiring on-site developer support.
